A Little Bit About Me

Dear Families,

My name is Stephanie Laughlin. (click this link to see a picture of my sister and I-I am in the Bearcat apparel) I recently graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in December of 2010 with my Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. I am looking forward to being in the classroom and the adventurous year that we have ahead of us. My role in the classroom will be to first assist the students with any of their needs as I will be a “guide on the side” who will help the children when they need it. I will watch as they learn and explore the world around them. I am looking forward to working with your child!

I have lived in Red Oak since May of 2010. I was given the chance to complete my student teaching at Inman Primary School in the fall of 2010 in both third grade and kindergarten. I am looking forward to seeing a few familiar faces as well as many new ones! Some of my hobbies include hanging out with my family and friends, playing as well as coaching and watching volleyball and softball, and scrapbooking. Also this last Christmas I had a new addition to my family. I purchased a puppy, his name is Wallace. I am sure you will be hearing a lot about him as he has been a learning experience for my family and I.

The one thing in life that I am most passionate about is teaching. I love children and the eagerness they have for life! They keep me on my toes and thats what life is all about!! I can't believe how fast time has flow and now it is time for another school yer to start! I am looking forward to an exciting journey as I start this new year, and I feel very blessed to have your child taking this journey with me!!

I was born and raised in a small town in southwest Iowa where I attended school at Farragut Community Schools. It was at this school that I first realized that I wanted to become a teacher. As a senior in high school I was given the opportunity to be an aide in the kindergarten classroom. I immediately knew that I wanted to be a teacher because I knew that I wanted to be the one that the students looked up to, respected, and came to when they wanted to learn or had a problem. I am a very understanding person and am very passionate about what I do. I love children and how they see the world as a whole. I can’t wait to not only get into the classroom and teach the children about the world around them, but also learn right along their side with and from them. I am very excited to meet you as well as your child so we can begin our "partnership" in your child's education!!
